History of Matheshof and the Profile of Equestrian Club Kreuth
The official history of Gut Matheshof dates back a long way. According to the website, the Matheshof was owned by the Spies family from 1671 to 1988 according to written and oral traditions. The farm became a manor in 1954 through the marriage of the Mathes farmer to the daughter of the Kredler farmer; at that time, the Spies family already offered a remarkable mix of agriculture, hospitality, and equestrian sports with 160 hectares of land, an inn, and a riding school with a large riding hall. This long development explains why the location does not appear as a short-term event space, but as a grown area with tradition, functional structures, and a clear focus on equestrian sports and events. Therefore, those who visit the location today experience not only modern tournament logistics but also a historically grown use built on several generations.([gut-matheshof.de](https://www.gut-matheshof.de/de/pferdesport/))
Today, Gut Matheshof describes itself as a tournament center with 5 riding halls, 8 riding arenas, an oval track, a racetrack, and cross-country courses, as well as 250 hectares of pasture and countless riding and carriage paths. Additionally, there are 550 bright and spacious boxes in 12 stables, over 150 luxury boxes directly at the halls, as well as 72 boxes in green areas or open stables. Washing areas and solariums complement the infrastructure for horses. The official overview also mentions a registration office for Western/classical in the hall, a registration office for classical in the open air with a judge's tower, hay and bedding sales, a farrier, showers, and a stable office. This combination shows why Equestrian Club Kreuth is interesting not only for individual tournaments but for a wide range of equestrian sports and training formats. The official tournament pages in the vicinity of Gut Matheshof also support this impression, as various disciplines, performance levels, and indoor or outdoor formats regularly appear there.([gut-matheshof.de](https://www.gut-matheshof.de/de/raeumlichkeiten-ostbayernhalle/))

Those spending several days in Kreuth will find various overnight and service offerings around the tournament center. The club's website refers to the Hotel Gut Matheshof as well as the wellness area Waldblick in close proximity to the tournament center. Additionally, the official Gut Matheshof page lists other living and accommodation areas such as Gutsgasthof, Gutshofpension, Waldhotel with underground parking, holiday apartment complex with underground parking, holiday home, and log cabins at the deer enclosure. This is practical for riders, supervisors, and accompanying persons because the location thus covers not only sports but also longer stays. Especially at multi-day tournaments, nearby accommodations significantly reduce the distances between stables, starts, and relaxation. The combination of accommodation, service, and tournament grounds is also a noticeable organizational advantage for teams arriving early or departing late.([reitverein-kreuth.de](https://www.reitverein-kreuth.de/zimmer-essen/))
The gastronomic offerings on the grounds are clearly oriented towards the tournament daily routine. The club mentions the hotel restaurant as a place to wind down after a tournament day, as well as the BOX 2 GO restaurant right next to the registration office with pizza, pasta, delicacies, daily specials, salads, and desserts. In the Ostbayernhalle, the Arena Bar invites visitors to take a break with coffee, tea, beers, drinks, non-alcoholic beverages, homemade cakes, as well as hot and cold snacks. This way, short distances between tests, conversations, and refreshments can be realized without having to leave the grounds. For visitors who want to logically combine equestrian sports, food, and breaks, this structure is pleasant. It fits the overall idea of Equestrian Club Kreuth: not only to conduct tests but to provide participants and spectators well throughout the day.([reitverein-kreuth.de](https://www.reitverein-kreuth.de/zimmer-essen/))

This direct communication makes the location reliably planable not only for visitors but also for participants and organizers.([reitverein-kreuth.de](https://www.reitverein-kreuth.de/kontakt-anfahrt/))

This allows checking tournament dates, directions, parking, hall plans, accommodation, and gastronomy in a logical sequence. This is important at a large tournament venue: Those who know the dates first can then plan arrival and parking, understand the hall and room structure, and finally clarify practical questions about food, overnight stays, and contact. For inquiries regarding Equestrian Club Kreuth, Kreuth Rieden, tournaments, parking, seating plans, or photos, this clear structure is a real advantage as it brings together all essential visit components from an official source.([reitverein-kreuth.de](https://www.reitverein-kreuth.de/kontakt-anfahrt/))

With a width of 30 meters and a length of 60 meters, it can be variably structured in ten-meter increments by curtains and is, according to the official description, suitable for concerts, fairs, meetings, or presentations. For visitors, this means: Equestrian Club Kreuth stands for a location where tournament sports, hospitality, and event technology work closely together.([gut-matheshof.de](https://www.gut-matheshof.de/de/raeumlichkeiten-ostbayernhalle/))
Overnight Stays, Gastronomy, and Services for Tournament Visitors
Photos, Impressions, and Practical Tips for the Visit
Those looking for photos or first impressions should start on the official homepage. There, the Equestrian Club Kreuth uses an image slider that visually presents the location. Additionally, the Gut Matheshof page provides a site plan for download and shows the most important areas of the grounds, including registration offices, parking lots, footpaths, access roads, and other functional areas. This is helpful for orientation because visitors can recognize how large the grounds are and which areas are relevant for tournaments, services, and accommodation even before their arrival. Especially for inquiries such as photos, seating plans, or site overviews, the combination of visual material and plan overview helps to better place the location. Even those coming to Kreuth for the first time can better prepare and realistically assess the processes on the event day.([reitverein-kreuth.de](https://www.reitverein-kreuth.de/))
Also practical are the clear contact details of the club: The office is located at Hans-Nowak-Ring 1 in Rieden OT Kreuth, reachable by phone at 09624 919 6150 and by email at info@reitverein-kreuth.de. For the event area of Gut Matheshof, the official page additionally provides the general contact address and the phone number +49 (0) 9624919-0. The club explicitly requests feedback, criticism, suggestions for improvement, and desired tests on its website, which is a good sign for active riders and regular guests. So, for those wanting to visit tournaments, plan stable spaces, clarify questions about directions, or get information about the program, Equestrian Club Kreuth provides a clearly structured, official contact person. This direct communication makes the location reliably planable not only for visitors but also for participants and organizers.([reitverein-kreuth.de](https://www.reitverein-kreuth.de/kontakt-anfahrt/))
Especially helpful is that Equestrian Club Kreuth and Gut Matheshof do not scatter their information but concentrate it on a few clearly named pages.

After a long time, races outside that we could come to watch. The Ostbayern Hall is still closed to spectators due to Covid. The place is really nice. Great for walks in Hirschwald. It's just marred by the oversized, unfinished hotel building, or whatever it was supposed to be. The building is falling apart, it's basically a ruin now, overgrown with grass and trees. Clearly, no one is taking care of Gut Matheshof.
