Zum Kummert Bräu | Opening Hours & Menu

Zum Kummert Bräu in Amberg is an address that goes far beyond a simple restaurant visit. Those looking for a brewery inn with its own signature will find a tavern, beer garden, event brewing house, and a direct connection to the neighboring brewery all in one place. This is precisely why so many different topics arise during the search: opening hours, menu, parking, directions, premises, photos, and events. The establishment has been a staple of Amberg's hospitality for decades, combining traditional Bavarian cuisine with its own beer culture and a generous event structure. For guests, this is practical because they can find a suitable solution here for a quick lunch, a relaxed beer garden visit, a family evening, or private celebrations and business appointments. The profile is clear: not overloaded, not arbitrary, but consciously regional, down-to-earth, and versatile. ([zumkummertbraeu.de](https://www.zumkummertbraeu.de/?utm_source=openai))

Opening Hours, Menu, and Dishes

Those looking for the current opening hours should refer to the official contact page. There, the establishment currently states Wednesday to Friday 5–10 PM, Saturday 10 AM–2 PM and 5–10 PM, and Sunday 10 AM–2:30 PM. Additionally, the website points out special hours on holidays and occasionally varying opening days, making a quick check before visiting sensible, especially if coming from afar or planning a table for several people. This clear, yet not overloaded schedule fits well with the character of the location: during the day on weekends for a cozy visit, in the evening for the classic tavern feeling, and in between with room for special occasions, reservations, and event formats. The search behavior around the keyword opening hours is also understandable, as Kummert Bräu is not just a transit gastronomy but a place with rhythm, kitchen, and event operations. ([zumkummertbraeu.de](https://www.zumkummertbraeu.de/kontakt?utm_source=openai))

Regarding the menu, Kummert Bräu consciously opts for a manageable, fresh selection rather than a huge list. The website describes a weekly changing main menu that regularly introduces new dishes without losing the character of a classic brewery inn. As a fixed item, schnitzel is always on the menu, while loin and steaks rotate, and traditional Bavarian roast pork is served on Sundays. Local reporting also mentions that the menu includes about 30 to 35 dishes and that the master brewer's schnitzel is among the most popular dishes. This clearly shows what the establishment focuses on: reliability in quality, regional tavern cuisine, and a selection that does not appear artificially inflated. This concept is also important from an SEO perspective, as search queries like menu or dishes often convey not only dishes but also expectations of freshness, style, and value for money. ([zumkummertbraeu.de](https://www.zumkummertbraeu.de/essen?utm_source=openai))

Additionally, there are seasonal offers six times a year that reflect the course of the year culinarily and make return visits attractive. This keeps the kitchen lively without losing its profile. The result is a mix of hearty Upper Palatinate cuisine, Bavarian classics, and changing impulses that appeal to both regular guests and visitors looking for a reliable address for a relaxed meal in Amberg. Those expecting modern star cuisine are in the wrong place here; however, those seeking rustic, fresh, and craft-oriented dishes with brewery character are likely in the right spot. The combination of its own beer culture, clear kitchen line, and changing menu is an important reason why the location has such a stable reputation in the region. ([zumkummertbraeu.de](https://www.zumkummertbraeu.de/essen?utm_source=openai))

Directions, Map, and Parking

Zum Kummert Bräu is located at Raigeringer Straße 11 in 92224 Amberg, making it very easy to find. The official contact page also emphasizes that the brewery is right next door, which makes orientation easier and visibly connects the inn and brewery operations. For search queries regarding the map or directions, this is a significant advantage, as the address is not only well-known but also logically embedded: those looking for the brewery inn will land directly in the ensemble of the Kummert world. This aids navigation by car, taxi rides, meeting points for groups, and of course, planning larger visits. Especially since the establishment is used for celebrations and events, the clear location on Raigeringer Straße plays an important role. In sources, it is repeatedly described in relation to the adjacent brewery and the expansive facility in the same street, making the location quickly understandable. ([zumkummertbraeu.de](https://www.zumkummertbraeu.de/kontakt?utm_source=openai))

When it comes to parking, the location is particularly convenient for an inn of this size. The Amberg Beer Guide 2025 explicitly mentions a large parking lot, and the local article highlights that the path from there is barrier-free to the guest rooms. This is a strong plus for guests who do not want to search long for parking spaces or arrive with several people, strollers, or limited mobility. For a brewery inn with a beer garden, guest rooms, and event area, such infrastructure is not a minor detail but part of the overall experience. Especially on evenings, weekend visits, or event dates with higher visitor numbers, a well-utilized parking lot often determines whether the visit starts relaxed. In conjunction with the clear address and proximity to the brewery, the journey for drivers is therefore uncomplicated and well-planned. Thus, search queries regarding parking or parking spaces are justified, as the establishment thinks not only gastronomically but also organizationally. ([tourismus.amberg.de](https://tourismus.amberg.de/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/BW_Bierfuehrer-Amberg-2025_RZ_250127_Web.pdf))

For practical orientation, it is also important that Kummert Bräu does not appear as an isolated single inn but as part of a small brewery and enjoyment area. This means: those looking at the map beforehand quickly recognize the combination of inn, brewery, beverage specialty store, and event spaces. This bundling is helpful when a visit is planned not just spontaneously but with intention. Groups also benefit from this, as meeting points, entrances, parking, and access to the location are easier to communicate. In summary, the journey is therefore not a complicated topic but one of the points where Kummert Bräu appears particularly practical for everyday use. This makes the location interesting for Amberg visitors, local regulars, and event groups alike. ([zumkummertbraeu.de](https://www.zumkummertbraeu.de/kontakt?utm_source=openai))

Beer Garden, Photos, and Premises

The beer garden is one of the strongest attractions of Zum Kummert Bräu. According to the official website, it offers space for around 300 guests, and in the Amberg Beer Guide, it is described as part of a very generous seating offer overall. The atmosphere is classically Bavarian: shade-giving chestnuts, plenty of air, a quiet green, and the perfect setting for beer and delicacies in the open air. In local reporting, the beer garden is even referred to as one of the largest in Amberg. This also explains why so many users search for photos: the outdoor area is not just an accessory but an essential feature of the location. Those looking at pictures beforehand quickly realize that this is not just an inn but a summer address with its own quality of stay. For warm days, weekends, and evening celebrations, this is a central advantage, as the experience outdoors significantly enhances the character of the brewery inn. ([zumkummertbraeu.de](https://www.zumkummertbraeu.de/raeumlichkeiten?utm_source=openai))

The guest rooms themselves are also designed with a consciously rustic yet well-maintained ambiance. Reporting speaks of wooden tables, wooden benches, historical photos, and decorative details that emphasize the brewery character. The official website complements this image with cozy guest rooms where Bavarian tavern culture meets contemporary comfort. This is particularly relevant for search queries regarding photos, as interested parties want to know before visiting whether they can expect a modern restaurant or a traditional inn. At Kummert Bräu, the answer is clear: rustic, warm, and tradition-conscious, but not old-fashioned in a negative sense. Especially for guests seeking an authentic impression of Upper Palatinate hospitality, this style is convincing. It does not appear staged but follows the logic of a house that consciously makes its origins visible and maintains them in its interior design. ([mittelbayerische.de](https://www.mittelbayerische.de/nachrichten/bayern/kummert-braeu-verbindet-tradition-und-geschmack-14061425))

In addition to the spatial diversity, there are two modern conference rooms on the first floor. These are not only interesting for meetings and seminars but also for smaller private formats where a quieter environment is required. This allows the establishment to cover various needs: outside the large beer garden, inside the cozy guest rooms, and above that the quiet rooms for planned occasions. The Amberg Beer Guide also mentions a family-friendly perspective with a play area in summer, making the location even more attractive for families. Photos, premises, and usage options are therefore closely linked, as the location cannot be reduced to a single usage type. This versatility makes Kummert Bräu so remarkable in the region: it is simultaneously a destination, a place to stop, a family spot, and an event venue. ([zumkummertbraeu.de](https://www.zumkummertbraeu.de/raeumlichkeiten))

Events, Celebrations, and Brewing House

In the area of events, Zum Kummert Bräu particularly clearly shows why it works not only as an inn but also as an event venue. The official website mentions a wide range of live music, beer tastings, and traditional Bavarian festivals. Additionally, there is a clear invitation to all those planning birthdays, weddings, corporate parties, or other special occasions. The brewing house is highlighted as the special event space that gives the entire experience its own flair. In a city like Amberg, this is important because visitors often seek not only a good meal but a complete occasion: food, drink, atmosphere, program, and space. Kummert Bräu delivers exactly this combination. The search terms events, program, seating, or celebration clearly indicate that the location does not rely solely on passing trade but on planned visits with an experiential character. ([zumkummertbraeu.de](https://www.zumkummertbraeu.de/events?utm_source=openai))

Local reporting complements this picture with more concrete usage details. It mentions regular events in the brewing house, and it is also noted that the brewing house can be used as an event space with around 170 seats. This creates a clear scale that is relevant for private celebrations as well as corporate formats. So, if someone is looking for a place where a round birthday, a wedding, or a corporate celebration works not only spatially but also atmospherically, they find a solid option here. Additionally, the Amberg Beer Guide describes the brewing house as a unique event location and mentions it along with meeting rooms, large parking situation, and barrier-free access. This is exactly the mix that makes a difference at events: not only beautiful but also organizationally useful. Therefore, Kummert Bräu is also interesting for inquiries with multiple guests, external programs, or longer lead times. ([mittelbayerische.de](https://www.mittelbayerische.de/nachrichten/bayern/kummert-braeu-verbindet-tradition-und-geschmack-14061425))

A look at previous event plans also shows how broad the establishment is in terms of program design. Among others, Ü30 Old School Party, Crime Dinner, live music in the beer garden, vintage car meetings, escape dinners, and live evenings in the brewing house have been mentioned. Such examples are not just decoration but a strong indication of the typical spectrum of the location. It is not just about classic dining but about formats that actively attract guests and make an evening planable. Particularly interesting is that the website regularly refers to its own event profile and describes the space not as a mere hall but as a lively experiential space. During the bock beer season, live music evenings are also offered on many weekends, according to reports. This reinforces the impression that Kummert Bräu consciously goes beyond normal restaurant operations during times of high occupancy. Brewery History and Kummert Beer

The history of the establishment is an essential part of its appeal. The official brewery and inn page describes that Franz Kummert ran the inn on Raigeringer Straße as early as 1907 and fulfilled a long-held wish with the founding of his own brewery in 1927. The brewing tradition of the establishment thus goes far beyond an ordinary gastronomy operation. With the traditional variety Kummert Hell, the foundation for further development was laid back then. The historical presentation on the brewery's website also makes it clear that Kummert Bräu was never intended to be an interchangeable venue but as a family-run business with a clear identity. This depth is relevant for search queries regarding history, special features, and ownership because it shows that the establishment has a grown origin and is not an artificially constructed concept. ([brauerei-kummert.de](https://www.brauerei-kummert.de/ueber-uns))

In the decades that followed, the brewery developed further. According to the official history, the brewing of wheat beer began in the second generation in 1949, positioning the establishment early as a pioneer in northern Bavaria. In 1956, the brewing house was rebuilt, and in 1959 new kettles were delivered. Today, Kummert Bräu is run in the fourth generation, combining artisanal brewing craftsmanship with modern technology. This is important for the perception of the location because guests see not only a beautiful inn but a lively brewing family that has developed its work over generations. The interplay of tradition and progress makes the history credible and strong: old roots but not stagnant. This narrative can also be well connected with search terms related to brewery, ownership, and background because the company appears externally as a family business. ([brauerei-kummert.de](https://www.brauerei-kummert.de/ueber-uns))

On the beer side, the artisanal selection of raw materials is also important. According to the website, the brewery uses quality hops from Hallertau as well as barley and wheat malt from the Upper Palatinate homeland. The Amberg Beer Guide adds that today around ten types of top and bottom-fermented beers are brewed, and seasonal specialties such as summer beer, Christmas beer, and a dark double bock round out the range. The beers are given time to mature in the storage cellar, which reflects the classic, patient brewing understanding of the establishment. Additionally, the in-house distillery produces four types of spirits. The bock beer brand is even distilled from Kummert's double bock. Thus, Kummert Bräu has a clear profile not only gastronomically but also production-wise: beer, spirits, and brewing tradition come from one operation. For guests, this is a strong added value, as the visit thus conveys not only a meal but a piece of local brewing culture. ([zumkummertbraeu.de](https://www.zumkummertbraeu.de/brauerei?utm_source=openai))

Accessibility, Groups, and Practical Tips

Practically speaking, Zum Kummert Bräu is very well equipped for guests with different requirements. The Amberg Beer Guide speaks of a barrier-free access from the large parking lot to the guest rooms and also mentions a disabled-friendly toilet. The premises page of the website also emphasizes that all guests can move freely and that accessibility is part of the establishment's self-understanding. This is a real plus for families, older visitors, groups with mobility restrictions, or events with mixed audiences. The combination of beer garden, guest rooms, conference rooms, and event brewing house also facilitates planning, as different target groups can be served in one place. So, if someone is looking not only for good food but for a location with reliable infrastructure, they get a very usable answer here. Especially for search queries regarding the menu, parking, and accessibility, this combination often counts more than pure aesthetics. ([tourismus.amberg.de](https://tourismus.amberg.de/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/BW_Bierfuehrer-Amberg-2025_RZ_250127_Web.pdf))

For group visits, it is also important that the establishment is not tailored to a single use. The official page refers to two conference rooms on the first floor, the event brewing house for private and business occasions, and regular in-house events. The beer guide adds a family-friendly component with the play area in summer. In practice, this means: those coming with children can use the beer garden; those meeting with colleagues have separate rooms; those planning a celebration can inquire about the brewing house. This versatility makes Kummert Bräu one of the better usable locations in Amberg, especially when a visit is not random but consciously organized. From an SEO perspective, this is also interesting because search queries regarding opening hours, menu, photos, reviews, and events often reflect the need for security about ambiance, service, and process in advance. The available information provides exactly this orientation: clear times, clear location, clear room structure, and a clear brewery character. ([zumkummertbraeu.de](https://www.zumkummertbraeu.de/raeumlichkeiten))

Those visiting the establishment for the first time should bring two things: a bit of anticipation and some flexibility. Anticipation because Kummert Bräu creates a coherent overall picture with its mix of tradition, beer garden, fresh cuisine, and its own brewery. Flexibility because the kitchen consciously works with weekly changing menus and because the establishment does not always operate in standard mode due to events, holidays, and special hours. But therein lies the charm: it is not a sterile concept but a lively inn operation with rhythm. Those researching for photos, reviews, or a later celebration will quickly find that the location works on many levels. Therefore, the best practical tip is: check opening hours briefly, inquire for larger groups, and then plan the visit so that one can truly savor the beer garden, kitchen, and brewery atmosphere. So, if someone is looking not only for good food but for a location with reliable infrastructure, they get a very usable answer here. Especially for search queries regarding the menu, parking, and accessibility, this combination often counts more than pure aesthetics. According to Google, the place opens at 10am on Saturday, but actually they open at 11. We were the first customers and the breakfast we wanted was already gone. But as long as this place is in the Oliver guide from Amberg, we still tried beer and some small dishes there. Service was very friendly, food was fresh and delicious! I'm sure they are full in the evenings!

Great Biergarten! Live music on the weekends with great food and beverages. Try to reserve a table in advance because it fills up quickly!

The food was amazing and the customer service was awesome. I went on a dinner date with my 3 daughters. One being 2 and the others 5. They treated us so well even with my lack of German. Yet I couldn’t read the menu, nothing Google Translate couldn’t handle. Definitely going to be going back more often.
