Wunderhof | Opening Hours & Outdoor Gallery

The Wunderhof in Eckertsfeld near Birgland is much more than a classic event venue. It is an art place, art studio, publishing house, learning space, and nature project at the same time. The official self-presentation describes it as the workplace of Evi Steiner-Böhm, where life and work are consciously connected. This is exactly what makes the place so exciting for visitors: Here, craft-oriented art meets landscape, garden, and a very personal family business that has been visible for years with courses, books, pictures, and projects. The municipality of Birgland therefore also refers to the Wunderhof on its page for creative and nature experiences as a special artist estate in the area. For the search intent around Wunderhof, Evi Steiner-Böhm, photos, opening hours, workshops, parking, and directions, this is important because the farm does not function as an anonymous event location, but as an individual cultural and natural space with a clear signature. Those who come here are not looking for a mass operation but for a place of tranquility, inspiration, and genuine encounters. It is precisely the combination of studio, outdoor gallery, living garden, and regional anchoring that makes the location in the Upper Palatinate unique. Wunderhof Opening Hours, Visit, and Contact

Those searching for the opening hours of the Wunderhof quickly realize: The place is not organized like a museum with rigid standard times, but works strongly with personal appointments and seasonal offers. The official website explicitly points out that visits are by appointment only. At the same time, a report from 2025 shows that the Wunderhof was increasingly open during the season from May to mid-October: At that time, interested parties could drop by the studio on Fridays between 3 and 5 PM without prior registration, and garden tours as well as studio visits were also offered. For visitors, this means: It is best to use the current contact in advance and check the appointment instead of relying on general opening hours. The contact details with phone and email are clearly stated on the official website, making planning easy. For search queries like Wunderhof opening hours or visiting Wunderhof, the most important information is that the place is accessible differently depending on the season, program, and occasion, and works particularly well for individual visits, groups, or workshop appointments. ([wunderhof.de](https://www.wunderhof.de/?utm_source=openai))

This flexible structure is part of the attractiveness of the Wunderhof. Visitors can specifically request the place for art discussions, workshops, tours, or studio visits instead of just getting a short standard tour. This fits with the idea of the house, which is meant to be experienced, not just viewed. The website clearly shows the connection between in-person offerings and the online shop: The Wunderhof is both an analog meeting place and a digital platform for art, books, and learning materials. This makes it relevant for different target groups, such as art enthusiasts, families, groups, teachers, and people seeking creative impulses. The location in a rural environment also suggests that one should inform themselves in advance, as travel, weather, and season can influence the visit. Therefore, anyone planning to visit the Wunderhof should always check the current program situation and coordinate the appointment with the team. This way, a simple inquiry often leads to a very individual visit that is much closer to the artist's working world than a regular tourist stop. Outdoor Gallery and Photos from the Wunderhof

The outdoor gallery is one of the strongest unique selling points of the Wunderhof and explains why so many people specifically search for photos from the Wunderhof. The official website describes it as a freely accessible gallery above the parking lot, where a selection of works by Evi Steiner-Böhm is presented. The special charm lies in the fact that art is not hung in a closed white room but is directly embedded in the landscape. This creates an interplay of image, weather, season, light, and nature that makes the place very photogenic. For social media, for Google Discover, and also for classic image searches, this backdrop is ideal because the theme of art is combined with a calm, rural atmosphere. At the same time, the outdoor gallery is not just decor but part of the artistic concept. It allows one to see and create art in different ways, as the official website states. Therefore, those who visit the Wunderhof do not just experience individual works but a curated interplay of environment and expression. This makes the place particularly valuable for all those seeking inspiration, motifs, and authentic impressions. ([wunderhof.de](https://www.wunderhof.de/?utm_source=openai))

Especially for photos, the Wunderhof is interesting because the grounds offer several levels: the farm, the garden, the area of the outdoor gallery, and the surroundings in Eckertsfeld. Unlike many event locations that primarily appear functional, the Wunderhof conveys a very personal, lively visual language. The artworks are intertwined with nature, architecture, and vegetation, and this creates the mixture of tranquility and surprise that visitors often find particularly attractive. Therefore, those searching for Wunderhof photos or pictures of Wunderhof usually do not expect just classic indoor shots but impressions of an art place that is anchored in the landscape. The private and family dimension is also important: The farm serves as both a workspace and living space. Photos should therefore be taken respectfully and within the framework of the respective visit situation. As an SEO topic, the outdoor gallery is strong because it combines two major search motives: attraction and image motif. The Wunderhof provides both without appearing artificial. ([wunderhof.de](https://www.wunderhof.de/?utm_source=openai))

History of the Wunderhof in Eckertsfeld

The history of the Wunderhof does not begin with an event idea but with a farm full of biography. According to the official chronicle, the Böhm/Steiner-Böhm family bought the former shoemaker's estate in Eckertsfeld in 2003. The farm, where Evi Steiner-Böhm had spent a lot of time in her childhood, was for sale at that time and thus became the Wunderhof. Since the main house had been empty for several years, a renovation was no longer sensible. Instead, the family decided to tear down the old house and rebuild it in the same style as a low-energy house. The grounds were also extensively redesigned. This phase is central to understanding the place because it shows that the Wunderhof is not a later decorated farm but a life and work project developed over years. The municipality of Birgland aptly describes it as a former shoemaker's estate that has been transformed into an inspiring nature artwork. Therefore, those searching for Wunderhof history will not find an abstract company profile here but a concrete transformation from a traditional farm to an art place. ([wunderhof.de](https://www.wunderhof.de/der-wunderhof/?utm_source=openai))

The further development makes the transformation even clearer. In 2007, the Wunderhof was officially inaugurated, with a first open house day in the café, studio, and art gallery. In the years that followed, the farm was open on weekends during the summer months and attracted many guests with its special atmosphere. The official chronicle also recalls the cakes and pastries in the summer café, which led many people to the Wunderhof for the first time and later brought them back for courses, seminars, and tours. From 2020, the grounds were rebuilt again: the garden was redesigned, the barn was demolished in 2021 and rebuilt elsewhere, and new outbuildings were added. In 2022, the former café area was converted into a studio, which is now used for workshops and art discussions. Particularly noteworthy is that the garden received the award for nature garden in Bavaria in 2024. This shows how consistently the Wunderhof continues to develop while preserving its identity. ([wunderhof.de](https://www.wunderhof.de/der-wunderhof/?utm_source=openai))

Studio, Workshops, and Art Discussions

The Wunderhof is primarily an art place, and that is why many people are interested in the studio, workshops, and art discussions. The official website describes Evi Steiner-Böhm's studio as a space that can transform at any time into an inspiring place for art discussions, seminars, and workshops. In this form, it accommodates up to 25 people. This is an important value for such a personal place because it shows that the Wunderhof can accommodate both small groups and professional formats. At the same time, the space is not rigid but adaptable. According to the chronicle, the former café now houses the studio, which can be used for workshops with up to four people and can be transformed into a seminar room for about 16 to 20 people for art discussions. This flexibility is a clear SEO advantage for search terms like Wunderhof studio, Wunderhof workshops, or Wunderhof art discussions, as they explain specific types of use. Those who come here expect not just to look but to actively participate and talk about art. This fits very well with the educational orientation of the house and the personality of Evi Steiner-Böhm, who makes her experiences in teaching, design, and communication visible on her website. ([wunderhof.de](https://www.wunderhof.de/?utm_source=openai))

The artistic offerings of the Wunderhof also include learning cards, books, originals, and YouTube tutorials. The product pages of the shop make it clear that the learning cards are particularly aimed at beginners from about ten years old and help step by step with drawing and painting. They contain transparent templates, tracing templates, and QR codes to free tutorials. This is relevant because it positions the Wunderhof not only as a place of sale but as a learning environment. Those searching for Evi Steiner-Böhm or Wunderhof will encounter a well-thought-out communication concept that combines analog and digital learning forms. The term art publishing house is also important here: The official website describes that, in addition to books, art prints, and gift items, commissioned works for companies, municipalities, clinics, and public institutions are also created. For the perception of the location, this means: The Wunderhof is not just any showcase but a production site with a real workshop character. This mixture of studio, publishing house, and learning place makes it a strong search result for culture-interested users. ([wunderhof.de](https://www.wunderhof.de/produkt/landschaft-zeichnen/?utm_source=openai))

Living Garden, Nature Garden, and Special Highlights

Another core motif of the Wunderhof is the living garden. The official website calls it the central component of the Wunderhof and describes it as a nature-friendly managed garden with symbolic significance. It can be visited as part of tours from May 1 to October 15, for groups of 1 to 25 people. This is important for the search intent around Wunderhof living garden, nature garden, and tours because a clear experiential space is created that goes beyond a simple farm visit. The garden is not an accessory but part of the narrative of the place. This is why the award for nature garden in Bavaria, mentioned in 2024, fits so well. It makes it visible that the garden is not only aesthetically but also ecologically thought out. Therefore, those who come here experience art not in isolation but in connection with nature, care, growth, and conscious design. This idea is very formative for the character of the house and explains why the Wunderhof stands out so clearly from a normal event venue in the regional perception. ([wunderhof.de](https://www.wunderhof.de/?utm_source=openai))

Special highlights of the place also arise from the interplay of art, landscape, and regional anchoring. The municipality of Birgland describes the Wunderhof as an inspiring nature artwork and points out that the studio can become a seminar room with a café corner during events and workshops. In addition, there is regional involvement in other cultural and nature projects, such as the forest experience path Birgland, for which Evi Steiner-Böhm and Stephan Böhm co-developed the concept and design. This commitment shows that the Wunderhof not only presents itself but also has an impact on the region. For visitors, this is attractive because a stay at the farm can be well combined with walks, nature experiences, or other discovery tours in Birgland. The large landscape integration of the municipality between the axes of Nuremberg, Regensburg, and Munich also makes the location interesting. Therefore, anyone looking for a place that combines art, nature, and personal encounters will find a rare mix of creative space, garden culture, and Upper Palatinate identity at the Wunderhof. Directions, Parking, and the Location in Birgland

The address of the Wunderhof is easy to remember and clearly documented for directions: Eckertsfeld 1, 92262 Birgland. For search queries like Wunderhof directions or Wunderhof parking, it is also important that the official website explicitly locates the outdoor gallery above the parking lot. This makes it clear that visitors have a clear arrival point on site and that the gallery can be accessed directly from the parking area. The municipality of Birgland generally describes the transport connections of the place as good, with access via the A6, B14 or B85, and St 2164, or alternatively via B299 and St 2164. Train connections to Hartmannshof or Sulzbach-Rosenberg as well as bus connections from Sulzbach-Rosenberg and Amberg are also mentioned there. For the Wunderhof as a rural art place, this location is valuable because it combines the seclusion of the farm with a still usable accessibility. Those coming from the region or planning a day trip thus find a realistic orientation for directions. ([wunderhof.de](https://www.wunderhof.de/?utm_source=openai))

The location itself is an essential part of the effect. Birgland is located east of Nuremberg between Sulzbach-Rosenberg and Alfeld in a landscape-shaped environment that the municipality explicitly describes as impressive. This very landscape framework fits the Wunderhof because art and nature come together not only thematically but spatially. The farm is not optimized for maximum event density but for atmosphere, tranquility, and a direct connection to the surroundings. This is helpful for visitors who are specifically looking for an extraordinary art place, but also for people interested in regional peculiarities, photos, nature gardens, garden tours, or small group formats. Therefore, for the SEO focus of the topic Wunderhof, it is crucial that the place is described not as an arbitrary hall but as a grown art and nature location. The combination of address, proximity to parking, regional connections, and rural location makes it comprehensible to plan and at the same time emotionally appealing. This balance of orientation and uniqueness is particularly strong for the search for a genuine excursion and cultural destination. ([birgland.de](https://www.birgland.de/?utm_source=openai))

I discovered Wunderhof through their fantastic YouTube tutorials. The artist Evi Steiner-Böhm demonstrates in a charming and engaging way how even beginners can learn to draw and paint. Her pedagogical training and years of teaching experience are evident. She's an inspiring personality and a fantastic artist. I now own several of her books, which are written and illustrated with great attention to detail. I wholeheartedly recommend Wunderhof. 🤍
