Town Hall of the City of Würselen | Opening Hours & Directions

The Town Hall of the City of Würselen is the central administrative seat of the municipality and is located at Morlaixplatz 1 in 52146 Würselen. On the official pages of the city, this location is referred to as the main office of the city administration, where many daily administrative matters converge: general inquiries, services, contact requests, appointment arrangements, and the work of individual offices. For visitors, the Town Hall is not just an address but the most important point of orientation when it comes to official visits, service questions, or political appointments in Würselen. The city explicitly refers to its contact and service areas as well as a service portal, through which many responsibilities and facilities can be found. Therefore, those who visit the Town Hall at Morlaixplatz will find a clearly structured administrative center with fixed opening hours, multiple access options, and good integration into the city center. This central location is an advantage, especially for people who are coming to Würselen for the first time or want to plan an appointment. Morlaixplatz is also a place of symbolic value, as it is named after the partner city of Morlaix and gives the Town Hall its own locally anchored framework. Opening Hours at the Town Hall of the City of Würselen

Anyone planning a visit to the Town Hall should check the official opening hours carefully and try to schedule the appointment according to the service times. The City of Würselen specifies clear time slots for the city administration at Morlaixplatz on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, which vary depending on the day of the week. On Mondays and Wednesdays, the administration is reachable in the morning and early afternoon, while on Tuesdays and Thursdays there are longer afternoon hours, and on Fridays, public traffic is concentrated in the morning. These times are important because the city also points out that many offices are personally accessible by prior appointment. Therefore, if someone has a specific concern, they should not only rely on the opening of the door but check the respective contact method and responsibility in advance. This saves trips, waiting time, and unnecessary follow-up questions. The official contact page is the most reliable source, as it publishes both the general opening hours of the city administration and the current information regarding appointment regulations. For user-friendliness, this is a clear plus: citizens can prepare specifically and better integrate their visit to the administration into their daily schedule. ([wuerselen.de](https://www.wuerselen.de/rathaus-service/stadtverwaltung/kontakt/?utm_source=openai))

Particularly relevant are the differing hours of the registration and civil registry offices, as they have their own service windows. The City of Würselen also publishes these times on its contact page, making it clear that not every area in the Town Hall operates according to the same pattern. For everyday tasks such as registrations, changes, or cancellations, certificates, or civil registry matters, it is therefore advisable to pay attention to the exact times in advance. The Town Hall is thus not a place with general admission but an administrative location with differentiated responsibilities. For example, anyone needing an appointment for the registration office or the civil registry should read the respective opening hours separately and consider possible appointment wishes. This also fits with today's administrative reality: many concerns are no longer spontaneous but are handled through coordinated time slots. This makes planning a visit pleasantly transparent, as the city openly communicates the time models. This does not complicate the Town Hall but makes it more reliable. The clear structure especially helps people who have little time and want to efficiently complete their official errands. Directions, Bus and Parking at Morlaixplatz

The directions to the Town Hall of the City of Würselen are well described, as the city provides specific information about bus and car travel in several service portal entries. For public transport, especially bus line 21 with the stops Würselen Rathaus or Neuhauser Straße and bus line 51 with the stop Parkhotel are mentioned. This information is particularly helpful when one has an appointment at the Town Hall and does not want to drive themselves. For visitors from the region, this means relatively simple orientation: the stops are named so that the destination is already visible in the name. This facilitates both the journey there and the return. At the same time, the information shows that the Town Hall is not isolated but well integrated into the urban transport network. Those planning to use the bus and a short walk can approach their administrative appointment in Würselen much more relaxed. Especially for last-minute matters or uncertain traffic conditions, the bus is often the more practical choice. The official information from the city is already sufficient for this, without the need for additional research. ([serviceportal.wuerselen.de](https://serviceportal.wuerselen.de/detail/-/vr-bis-detail/mitarbeiter/6080/show?utm_source=openai))

For drivers, the information is also specific. The city mentions the City parking garage and Rathausstraße as parking options. Additionally, there is a barrier-free access via Morlaixplatz and Rathausstraße, which is confirmed multiple times in the service portal entries. This is particularly important when people with limited mobility, strollers, or heavy luggage come. The access is therefore not only theoretically available but clearly indicated in the official information. In everyday life, this is a real plus because the paths on site are less complicated, and visitors do not have to search long for the entrance. Those arriving by car can thus solve the parking issue in advance and focus on the actual concern. The fact that the city transparently names both parking and barrier-free access shows a pragmatic visitor guidance. For a Town Hall, this is particularly valuable because very different target groups meet there daily: citizens, administrative employees, people with appointments, and individuals seeking information about municipal processes. Morlaixplatz: Location and Significance for Würselen

Morlaixplatz is not just the address of the Town Hall but carries a recognizable urban significance. The City of Würselen explains on its page about the partner city Morlaix that the square in front of the New Town Hall was named in honor of the French partner city. Thus, the location of the Town Hall is also a visible sign of the city partnership, which has played a role for Würselen for decades. For visitors, this is interesting because at this location, administration and city history meet directly. The name Morlaixplatz makes the location unmistakable and gives it its own identity within the city center. Therefore, anyone taking a photo there or arriving for the first time is not just moving around an administrative building but at a place with a conscious cultural memory reference. Such references are valuable for municipalities because they make an address more than just a set of directions. The Town Hall thus receives a framework that goes beyond its mere function. The naming also shows how closely municipal identity and European partnership are linked in Würselen. ([wuerselen.de](https://www.wuerselen.de/leben-in-wuerselen/willkommen-in-wuerselen/staedtepartnerschaften/morlaix/?utm_source=openai))

The location at Morlaixplatz is also practical for orientation in the city. The official city website shows the Town Hall in a picture taken from Morlaixplatz, so the perspective on site is already digitally traceable. Additionally, the city refers at various points to Morlaixplatz as a clear reference point for administration, culture, and urban information. This makes the place a small hub in the daily life of Würselen: those going to the Town Hall automatically move into an environment shaped by administration, citizen services, and urban communication. In close proximity, the information level also plays a significant role, such as when current announcements, cultural calendars, or communications from the city are made accessible through the Town Hall and its public offices. For first-time visitors, this is helpful because they do not have to search for multiple addresses. Morlaixplatz thus serves as a clean starting point for many official errands. It is also a place that, through its name and function, forms a clear urban center. This makes the location of the Town Hall easy to understand and easy to find. ([wuerselen.de](https://www.wuerselen.de/leben-in-wuerselen/willkommen-in-wuerselen/heimat-und-geschichte/?sds=1&utm_source=openai))

Service Portal, Information Stand, and Citizen Concerns

The Town Hall of Würselen is not only an administrative building but also a clearly structured service location. The city makes it clear on its website that many services can be found online in the service portal. This is important for citizens because information about offices, services, responsibilities, and appointment models can be accessed there in a bundled manner. Additionally, there is an information stand in the Town Hall foyer where inquiries about contacts and opening hours within the Town Hall are provided. According to the service portal, forms, templates, informational brochures, and even yellow bags are distributed there, provided that the corresponding distribution is planned. Thus, the Town Hall fulfills a dual function: it is both a digital entry point and a personal contact point. Therefore, when arriving on site, one does not necessarily have to search for the right office but can first orient themselves at the information stand. This is particularly useful for people who rarely visit the Town Hall or wish to handle multiple concerns in one day. The administration thus relies on a pragmatic mix of online information and direct assistance on site. ([serviceportal.wuerselen.de](https://serviceportal.wuerselen.de/detail/-/vr-bis-detail/einrichtung/48/show?utm_source=openai))

Another interesting aspect is the cultural archive of the City of Würselen, which has moved after many years from the Old Town Hall to new premises in the basement of the Town Hall at Morlaixplatz. This information shows that the Town Hall is not only a place for classic administration but also houses the municipal memory. The archive collects chronicles, newspapers, photos, historical maps, church books, paintings, and sound recordings, and is used for various purposes. This gives the building an additional substantive depth that goes beyond the usual administrative routine. At the same time, the city makes it clear that numerous administrative services are accessible by prior appointment. This fits well with the modern visitor concept: those who come prepared can handle their concerns more specifically. For those seeking information about forms, responsibilities, registration topics, or municipal contacts, the Town Hall is therefore a very well-organized hub. The service idea runs through several official pages and shows that Würselen focuses on transparency and clear pathways. ([wuerselen.de](https://www.wuerselen.de/leben-in-wuerselen/willkommen-in-wuerselen/heimat-und-geschichte/?sds=1&utm_source=openai))

Council Chamber, Meeting Room, and Public Appointments

The Town Hall of the City of Würselen is also a political place. The official website regularly lists appointments when the city council or various committees meet in the meeting room of the Town Hall at Morlaixplatz 1. The city publishes not only the times but often also the agendas and the note that the meetings are public. For citizens, this means a direct opportunity to follow municipal decisions firsthand. The council chamber is thus not an isolated room but a place of urban public life. Those interested in budget issues, urban planning, funding programs, or other municipal topics find here a concrete interface between administration and democratic participation. Particularly practical is that the invitations and consultation documents are provided online in the council information system. This allows one to prepare for an appointment well before entering the building. The Town Hall thus fulfills not only an administrative but also an informational function at this point. It is the place where political work becomes visible and municipal resolutions are created. ([wuerselen.de](https://www.wuerselen.de/news/2026/juni/stadtrat-tagt-am-9-juli/?utm_source=openai))

The specific designation of the room is also interesting, as the city refers in individual announcements to the meeting room, meeting room A, or meeting room B. This shows that several rooms in the Town Hall are used for different formal occasions. In addition to city council meetings, committee meetings and other public appointments also take place there. For practical purposes, this means: if someone wants to attend a meeting, they should pay attention not only to the date but also to the exact room indication. The municipal announcements usually provide this information very clearly. Such details make orientation easier, especially when multiple committees meet in one building or when other administrative processes are running in parallel. The Town Hall thus serves as the heart of municipal decision-making and as a place where the public and administration come together. Those who want to get to know Würselen not just as a visitor but as an interested citizen will gain good insight into the workings of the city here. This mix of service, politics, and transparency characterizes the building at Morlaixplatz. ([wuerselen.de](https://www.wuerselen.de/news/2025/dezember/stadtrat-tagt-am-16-dezember/?utm_source=openai))

Photos, Impressions, and Practical Orientation

Those looking for photos of the Town Hall of the City of Würselen in advance will find useful visual hints on the city pages. The official website shows the building photographed from Morlaixplatz, which is especially helpful for orientation. This allows one to recognize how the location appears and where the main entrance or the urban environment is situated even before the visit. Especially for public buildings, an image is often more valuable than many words because it makes the arrival situation clearer. When people search for the Town Hall, it is often not just about the address but also about the first impression, the path, and the question of what the area in front of the building looks like. The official images fulfill exactly this purpose. They make the place digitally experienceable and help to recognize the building more quickly. For a Town Hall, this is particularly sensible because visitors often come with clear expectations and want to know how the path is structured on site. The Town Hall of Würselen presents itself as a factual administrative location with a visible urban connection. ([wuerselen.de](https://www.wuerselen.de/leben-in-wuerselen/willkommen-in-wuerselen/heimat-und-geschichte/?sds=1&utm_source=openai))

For the practical planning of a visit, it is also important to keep the contact methods in mind. The city provides the phone number 02405 67-0, the fax number 02405 49939-400, and the email address info@wuerselen.de for the Town Hall. Together with the opening hours, parking information, and bus connections, this creates a very useful overall picture. If one is still unsure on the way to the Town Hall, they can call in advance or check the online information. This is especially sensible if a concern is tied to a specific office or if an appointment is required. The city points out at several places that services are accessible by prior appointment. This keeps the visit planable and shortens the paths. For those seeking reviews, by the way: in everyday life, many people orient themselves based on impressions from map and search services, while the city pages primarily provide factual service information. This is exactly where the value of the official information lies: they provide orientation without overwhelming, making the Town Hall a well-understood administrative address, political center, and well-connected contact point in Würselen. Nothing to say about the building itself, but regarding the services, I was disappointed. I had big expectations, but the employee I interacted with seemed really bored and didn't want to work that day, so he basically rescheduled us to a much later time, even though I clearly read that he could have accepted our application as it was.

Best to book an online appointment and pay with EC card – Important info in advance! If you want to get through quickly, you should definitely book an appointment online beforehand. You simply scan the received QR code at the machine, get your number, and wait. If the system doesn't crash, you can get through relatively quickly. Without an appointment, the waiting is hit or miss – you can try from 8 AM, but the pace depends on staff availability. On my visit day, unfortunately, only two employees were there, who were completely overwhelmed. Two important points to know in advance: Passport photos: The website states that you need to bring photos for the ID card. That's not true! The photo is taken on-site. However, it costs a hefty 6 euros for a single digital photo – quite expensive. Payment: You should definitely pay with an EC card. If you pay in cash, the city of Würselen charges an additional fee of 2 euros. For me, that's an absolute joke, as cash is still an official means of payment. Overall okay if you're prepared, but there's room for improvement in service and fees.
