Naturbad Königstein i. d. Oberpfalz | Events & Tickets
The Naturbad Königstein i. d. Oberpfalz is much more than a classic outdoor pool. On the outskirts of the market town of Königstein, in the middle of the Franconian Switzerland-Frankenjura Nature Park, the facility combines natural swimming, camping, and recurring events into a place that is a fixed point of contact for many visitors from the region in summer. The bathing water comes from a natural spring, is treated through regeneration areas and a special plant treatment facility, and is kept in a natural state according to the official description. At the same time, there is a generous sunbathing area, a water play area for children, a separate camping area, and an event calendar that ranges from the Petzl Climbing Festival to Aquafit and night swimming. So, anyone looking for a place where relaxation, movement, and event atmosphere come together will find an unusually versatile combination here. The official website also mentions a webshop, a ticket shop, and a clear season logic from May to September. The location is particularly strong in the climbing and outdoor environment of Franconian Switzerland, making the Naturbad a meeting point for families, campers, climbing fans, and day visitors. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
Events and Program at Naturbad Königstein
When looking at the Naturbad Königstein i. d. Oberpfalz in terms of the most important search intentions, the topic of events comes first. This is no coincidence, as the official page of the bath features its own events section with several dates for the 2026 season. In addition to the classic bathing offers, Aquafit dates, a children's swimming festival, introductory diving, an Italian evening, and a dog swimming event appear. This mix shows that the Naturbad is not only intended as a place for swimming in summer but also as a social meeting point for different target groups. Families find their place there just as much as sportily active guests or visitors simply looking for a special summer program. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
The most well-known major event is the Petzl Frankenjura Climbing Festival, which according to the official page of the Naturbad takes place every two years and is known throughout Europe. The festival page describes the Naturbad Königstein as a central location that has proven itself for the event, and names the period from June 4 to 7, 2026. The character of the festival fits perfectly into the region: workshops, lectures, material tests, exhibitor stands, and a concert meet in a venue that is already strongly associated with climbing and outdoor culture. This is also relevant for search intentions, as those looking for events in Königstein will not only find local bathing events here but also a regional scene meeting point with real festival character. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
Additionally, the festival infrastructure is well organized. The festival page refers to a shuttle bus from the Neuhaus an der Pegnitz train station to the venue and describes the Naturbad as a meeting point with plenty of space on the meadows. For visitors, this means: The site is not only intended for spontaneous swimming days but is also designed for larger visitor flows. That the official municipal page lists additional Aquafit courses, night swimming, and other special dates for 2026 underscores the role of the Naturbad as an event location with a recurring program structure. So, anyone searching for events at Naturbad Königstein i. d. Oberpfalz should see the whole spectrum: from a quiet swimming day to a big festival weekend. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
Tickets and Prices for Naturbad Königstein
The second major keyword cluster around Naturbad Königstein i. d. Oberpfalz revolves around tickets, prices, and booking. The official bath page explicitly points out that ticket sales are possible via the webshop or the ticket machine. For camping guests, there is also a direct booking option. This makes it clear: Those planning a visit can prepare the most important steps online and do not necessarily have to rely on a cash register on site first. This simple structure is a real advantage, especially for families, campers, or festival guests, as travel and admission can be better combined. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
The price structure is deliberately clear. According to the official page, day tickets cost 3.00 euros for children aged 6 to 17, 6.00 euros for adults, and 14.00 euros for a family with two adults and four children. Additionally, there is an evening rate of 3.00 euros. A 50 percent discount is provided for persons with disabilities with a degree of disability over 50 and for accompanying persons. This pricing fits the character of the bath as a family-friendly, low-threshold recreational facility that is intentionally not positioned in the premium segment but offers fair access to nature baths, sunbathing areas, and water experiences. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
There are also provisions for longer stays. The page mentions season tickets for children, adults, and families, which are also valid at the Hirschbach outdoor pool. This connects the offer regionally in a meaningful way and makes it more attractive for guests who want to switch between both pools more frequently in summer. For camping guests, it is important that the bathing admission is already included in the camping prices during the main season. This reduces additional costs and makes the Naturbad also interesting for multi-day stays. So, those searching for Naturbad Königstein tickets are not only looking for an admission price but also for a simple, transparent admission and booking logic for day guests, regular guests, and campers. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
Opening Hours and Weather Rules at Naturbad Königstein
The opening hours are a particularly important point because the Naturbad Königstein i. d. Oberpfalz is not a standardized indoor pool but a weather-dependent natural pool. According to the official page, the season runs from May to September. From Monday to Friday, it is open from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and during the summer holidays from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM; the last admission is at 7:00 PM. This is important for planning because the visit should not start late in the evening if one wants to use the pool in full. Currently, the pool is closed according to the official page, which is typical for the transition period before the season starts. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
Particularly interesting is the weather regulation, as it clearly distinguishes the Naturbad from conventional outdoor pools. In nice weather, the facility is generally open at an outside temperature of 20 degrees, including the sunbathing area. If the weather is changeable or cool, the sunbathing area remains closed, even if swimming operations can run in a limited scope. In the afternoons, the pool is open for all bathers from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM in worse weather, and during this time, there is continuous supervision on site. In case of continuous rain and temperatures below 10 degrees, the pool is closed and bathing is prohibited. These rules make it clear that the visit depends not only on the calendar but also heavily on the day's weather. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
This has two practical consequences for visitors. First, it is worth looking at the weather situation and not just the date. Second, the Naturbad is particularly attractive on warm, stable summer days because then the sunbathing area, children's area, and swimming operations can all be fully utilized at the same time. Therefore, those traveling with children, campers, or a group should check in advance whether the weather meets their expectations. Search queries like Naturbad Königstein opening hours or Naturbad Königstein prices are meaningfully connected because time, admission, and weather are closely linked here. The Naturbad is not a place for rigid standard logic but a seasonal recreational place with consciously nature-oriented operating rules. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
Access and Parking in Königstein
The location of the Naturbad is one of the reasons why it works so well for day visitors and festival attendees. The official tourism and municipal page lists the address Badstraße 3 in 92281 Königstein. At the same time, Königstein is described as a place with good connections to the A9 motorway, the B85 federal road, and the Nuremberg metropolitan transport association. The Neuhaus an der Pegnitz train station is about seven minutes away, and the Neukirchen train station is about twelve minutes away; additionally, there are bus connections to Hersbruck, Amberg, Sulzbach-Rosenberg, and Auerbach. This is particularly relevant for the search intention of access because the location is thus reachable both by car and by public transport. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Markt-K%C3%B6nigstein/formulare/))
Regarding parking, the tourism information page directly refers to the parking lot at the Naturbad. This is a clear practical hint, as it provides a specific arrival point for day visitors, bathers, and hikers. Additionally, the festival organization shows that during the Petzl Climbing Festival, the Naturbad itself is used as a parking and camping area, and the visitor structure is designed for larger numbers. So, anyone searching for Naturbad Königstein parking will not find a complicated parking garage situation but rather a simpler, local solution with parking available on site. This is an advantage, especially for families with children or for arrivals with camping equipment, as the paths remain short and clear. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Tourismus/Sehensw%C3%BCrdigkeiten/))
For orientation on site, the proximity to other recreational offerings is also relevant. The official tourism page also mentions the parking lot at the Naturbad as a starting point for the botanical educational trail. From there, it takes about 15 minutes on moderately rising paths to reach the educational trail. This shows that access is not only aimed at the bath itself but also at combinable recreational destinations in the vicinity. So, anyone planning a swimming or camping day trip can combine it with hiking or other nature experiences. The Naturbad is thus located in a position that is not only functional but also particularly attractive in terms of landscape. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Tourismus/Sehensw%C3%BCrdigkeiten/))
Camping, Sunbathing Area, and Family Area
A central feature of the Naturbad Königstein i. d. Oberpfalz is the camping area. The official camping page of the administrative community lists 34 spots for motorhomes and 15 spots for tents. The campsite opens on April 30, 2026. In the main season from June 1 to September 13, 2026, the prices are structured so that the bathing admission is already included. This makes the location particularly interesting for longer summer stays: you can stay overnight, swim, and enjoy the character of a nature-oriented holiday spot at the same time. For many guests, this is the actual strength of the Naturbad because it is not only a destination for a quick dip in the water but for complete summer days and weekends. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Camping/Camping-in-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
The camping rules also show how well organized the site is. Arrival should take place by 7:00 PM at the latest and should be registered with the bathing supervision or security personnel. A key card is required for access, for which a deposit is made. The sanitary facilities are also available at night, and the ticket as well as the tickets of other persons should be visible in the windshield. There are clear indications of behavior on the premises, the prohibition of wild campfires without permission, and the obligation to leave the site clean. Additionally, according to the mayor's information, the camping area has been separated from the bathing area by a fence, the parking spaces have been newly laid out, the hut has been expanded into a recreation area with cooking facilities, and a separate shower and toilet facility has been created. This is remarkable because it significantly enhances and professionalizes the campsite. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Camping/Camping-in-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
For families and bathers without overnight stays, the sunbathing area is especially important. The official bath page describes a generous sunbathing area where every visitor finds a place to relax, as well as a spacious water play area for the little guests. There is a water feature for splashing and a small stream, alongside shady spots for families. This combination is one of the reasons why the Naturbad is rated so positively in Google reviews: the site does not appear over-staged but open, friendly, and very flexible in use. That camping guests have included admission to the bath further enhances this family-friendly overall impression. So, those searching for Naturbad Königstein camping or Naturbad Königstein families will find an offer that is practical, quiet, and simultaneously versatile. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
Spring Water, Plant Treatment Facility, and Special Atmosphere
The Naturbad Königstein owes its character mainly to the water. The official page explains that the swimming pool is supplied with spring water and that the water is cleaned through a special plant treatment facility. Additionally, the municipal page describes a permanent circulation and filtration through regeneration areas, which is supposed to ensure the best water quality at all times. This is the central difference to a conventional chlor pool. Visitors do not experience an artificially sterilized bathing pool here but a natural pool that secures its water quality through natural processes, care, and technical support. This is exactly why the offer fits so well with Franconian Switzerland, which is already strongly associated with nature experiences, climbing, and relaxation. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
For search queries like Naturbad Königstein spring water or Naturbad Königstein sunbathing area, it is also important that the facility is intended not only technically but also spatially as a place of relaxation. The large sunbathing area creates space for peace, picnics, and family stays, while the water play area makes use for children significantly more pleasant. The facility does not rely on spectacular architecture but on open, nature-oriented use. This fits the feedback in the reviews, where visitors describe the bath as wonderful, unique, and family-friendly. This perception is valuable for SEO because it clearly demonstrates user interest in atmosphere and uniqueness. ([vg-koenigstein.de](https://www.vg-koenigstein.de/Erleben-Genie%C3%9Fen/Freitzeitaktivit%C3%A4ten/Schwimmb%C3%A4der/Naturbad-K%C3%B6nigstein/))
Particularly trust-building is also that the administrative community links a microbiological examination of the spring on the bath page. This signals transparency and documents that water quality in the Naturbad is not only claimed but regularly checked. For a natural pool, this point is important: nature should remain tangible, but the operation must still be cleanly controlled. Together with the location on the edge of the nature park, the camping area, the festival flair, and the climbing sports environment, a location emerges that is very clearly profiled. So, anyone looking not only for a place to swim but for a special summer place with real regional identity will find exactly this mix of nature, function, and event character at Naturbad Königstein.
A beautiful place to stay with the camper. They have a nice kids play area, with water and gravel. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Oli, the responsible person (boss) solved a big problem for me so we could stay longer and I was able to work from there. Customer service is amazing. Tanja, the chief of the kiosk, created delicious food for the private camp with 200 people. We had a great experience there. A dump station exists just over the hill. We will come back.
