Monte Kaolino | Camping & Prices

Monte Kaolino in Hirschau is not an ordinary recreational area, but a distinctive destination with rarity value. The white mountain rises about 120 meters above the surrounding area, consists of around 35 million tons of quartz sand, and was formed from the waste quartz sand from kaolin processing. Today, Monte Kaolino combines camping, sand skiing, a lift, swimming, a toboggan run, and other outdoor offerings into an experience space that appeals to families, sports fans, groups, and day visitors alike. Those searching for Monte Kaolino Hirschau, Monte Kaolino prices, Monte Kaolino camping, Monte Kaolino webcam, or Monte Kaolino height are essentially looking for a place where industrial history, recreational fun, and unusual landscapes come together. This is exactly what makes Monte so exciting: it is a landmark, sports venue, and vacation destination all in one, making it one of the most striking excursion destinations in the Upper Palatinate. Booking Monte Kaolino Camping: Mobile Homes, Season, and Reservation

The campsite at Monte Kaolino is the easiest way for many visitors to fully enjoy the experience around the white mountain. The official camping page describes the offering as a special camping experience at the white mountain, with fine sand and a unique dune ambiance right next to the recreational fun. Particularly important for planning: the site is open year-round and was awarded the Campsite Award for the third time in 2022 in the category of “Recreational Offers for Youth and Young Adults.” Additionally, there is the ADAC classification with four stars and the award “Tip 2022,” which further underscores the quality of the site. For inquiries like booking Monte Kaolino camping or Monte Kaolino camping prices, it is also relevant that bookings are made through the form, clearly indicating that the site is intended for reservations. ([montekaolino-hirschau.de](https://www.montekaolino-hirschau.de/erlebniswelten/montecamping/))

For those wishing for more comfortable accommodation, modern mobile homes for four people are available on the premises. According to the official description, these feature a shower and toilet, a living area with seating, a modern kitchen with a gas stove and refrigerator, satellite TV, and internet. Pets are not allowed in the mobile homes, and there is a minimum booking period of four nights from Easter until the end of the summer holidays. Additionally, there is a kiosk named MonteBeach on site that offers a bread roll service in the morning, which can be utilized via an order form or WhatsApp, as well as the restaurant Triple B – Burger Bowls Basics. The camping prices are divided into pre-season, mid-season, and peak season, with the season planning aligned with the Bavarian school holidays. This makes Monte Kaolino particularly interesting for those who understand camping not just as accommodation but as part of an active short vacation. Monte Kaolino Skiing in Summer: Lift, Height, and Webcam

The centerpiece of Monte Kaolino for many visitors is the lift system, as here sand is transformed into a real skiing experience. The MonteLift transports guests up the 150-meter high quartz sand mountain, and the subsequent descent is about 200 meters long. The technical description mentions a gradient of 45 percent, two transport systems each with nine persons, a transport speed of 3 meters per second, a ride time of about one and a half minutes, and a transport frequency of up to 200 persons per hour. The facility was opened on April 1, 2009. This makes Monte Kaolino particularly interesting for inquiries like Monte Kaolino skiing or Monte Kaolino ski, as skiing is done not in winter, but in the middle of the warm season. For skiers, BigFoot riders, sandboarders, and toboggan riders, this is an extraordinary summer experience. ([sc-montekaolino.de](https://sc-montekaolino.de/erlebniswelten/montelift/))

The official description also emphasizes that Monte Kaolino is the only sand ski area in Europe and the only sand ski area in the world with a stationary lift. This unique combination of rarity and summer feeling also explains why Monte Kaolino is often searched together with Monte Kaolino webcam: many guests want to see in advance what the weather is like on the mountain, and the homepage offers a live cam or weather view for that purpose. At the same time, it should be noted that the facility operates seasonally. In winter, it remains closed, while group inquiries outside regular opening hours are possible. Therefore, the ideal image for a summer visit is clear: sun, sand, lift, and a short, direct path up to the viewing platform or down the slope. Those who have experienced this once quickly understand why Monte is known far beyond the region. ([sc-montekaolino.de](https://sc-montekaolino.de/ueber-uns/))

Monte Kaolino Prices: Tickets, Day Passes, and Fair Family Options

When it comes to Monte Kaolino prices, it is worthwhile to take a closer look at the individual experience worlds, as the rates are deliberately structured according to offerings and target groups. For the lift system, single rides for adults are priced at 4 euros, while for children up to 14 years, it is 3.50 euros. There are also 6 and 12 ride tickets as well as group prices starting from 15 persons. For the lift with rental, time tickets are available, such as for one, two, four hours, or as a day pass, each separated by adults and children. The toboggan ride is also listed as a single ride. Additionally, there are clear age and size rules, such as that children under three years are not allowed to use the toboggan run and children from eight years and a height of 1.35 meters may ride alone. This transparent pricing structure is particularly helpful when planning family outings and weekend visits. ([sc-montekaolino.de](https://sc.montekaolino.de/oeffnungszeiten-preise/))

Beyond the lift system, there are further clearly defined prices that cater well to the search interest around Monte Kaolino prices. For MonteGolf, the entry prices for adults are 8 euros and for children aged 5 to 14 years, it is 5 euros; families and groups receive discounts. In the high ropes course, adults pay 27 euros, children and teenagers 23 euros, the family course costs 22 euros, and there is also a discount for school classes starting from 20 students. For the 3D archery course, the admission for adults is 10 euros, teenagers pay 7 euros, and children up to 11 years are free but may have to pay a rental fee. Particularly convenient: many tickets are purchased online and sent via email as a code, which can then be redeemed on-site at the cash register. This makes Monte Kaolino equally interesting for spontaneous visitors as well as for planning families, groups, and clubs. ([sc-montekaolino.de](https://sc.montekaolino.de/oeffnungszeiten-preise/))

Monte Kaolino Maps, Directions, and Parking in Hirschau

Those searching for Monte Kaolino maps or Monte Kaolino Amberg usually want to know practically where the facility is located and how to get there. Officially, Monte Kaolino is located about two kilometers southeast of Hirschau in the Upper Palatinate, between Amberg and Weiden. This is important for route planning, as the amusement park can be easily accessed from the surrounding area. For day visitors, it is also crucial that there are 310 car parking spaces and 7 bus parking spaces directly in front of the campsite and in the access area west of Monte Kaolino. This makes the place attractive not only for families in cars but also for travel groups and bus excursions. Those planning with a map can therefore easily set the location as a classic destination for a short trip in the Upper Palatinate. ([sc-montekaolino.de](https://sc.montekaolino.de/anfahrt/?utm_source=openai))

The parking regulations are also clearly defined and helpful for visit planning. Parking fees are collected daily from April 1 to September 30 between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. For up to two hours, there is a minimum parking fee of 1 euro, for more than two to four hours, it is 2 euros, and for more than four hours up to a maximum parking duration of nine hours, it is 3 euros. A half hour is free of charge, but a parking ticket is still required. These details are particularly useful when researching Monte Kaolino maps, Monte Kaolino Amberg, or Monte Kaolino Hirschau and wanting to organize the trip as stress-free as possible. Together with the official parking lots and clear opening hours, this creates a very manageable visit that is suitable for both short stops and longer family days. Monte Kaolino Amusement Park: Highlights for Families, Groups, and Companies

Monte Kaolino is much more than just a sand mountain with a lift. The official site presents the amusement park as a world of experiences with camping, golfing, tobogganing, climbing, swimming, sand skiing, inline skating, archery, and Segway tours. This variety explains why Monte Kaolino amusement park is such a frequently searched term: families find a whole day full of variety here, rather than just a single attraction. The MonteCoaster adds extra dynamics to the experience, while the MonteDune pool provides cooling, and the adventure playground at the foot of the mountain offers younger guests their own space. The combination of activity, relaxation, and unusual landscape makes the location appealing for day visitors as well as for longer stays. ([sc-montekaolino.de](https://sc.montekaolino.de/))

Notably, the recreational concept around the mountain is not only aimed at individual visitors but also at groups, school classes, and companies. The high ropes course opens daily during the Bavarian school holidays, groups of 15 or more can inquire outside regular opening hours, and team-building offers as well as catering on-site are mentioned for companies. The 3D archery course, with its length of 2740 meters, 32 target groups, and more than 100 animal motifs, is a small adventure in nature. The Segway offering also promotes the use of bike paths, guided tours, and the opportunity to use other attractions or dining options afterward. This is exactly the type of offering that complements inquiries like Monte Kaolino mobile home or Monte Kaolino camping booking, as here not just a bed, but a complete recreational stay is offered. ([sc-montekaolino.de](https://sc.montekaolino.de/oeffnungszeiten-preise/))

Monte Kaolino Height, Winter, and the History of the White Mountain

The history of Monte Kaolino is closely linked to the kaolin industry in the region. According to the official description, kaolin mining has shaped the area since 1833 and has sustainably influenced the development of Hirschau and Schnaittenbach. The white mountain itself was formed because waste quartz sand from the kaolin processing of the Amberg kaolin works was stored for decades. Thus, an industrial byproduct grew into a landscape landmark that today attracts visitors and makes the search interest behind Monte Kaolino height or Monte Kaolino winter understandable. As early as 1957, the uniqueness of the mountain was recognized and was first used for tourism with summer skiing events. Thus, Monte Kaolino has undergone a development that ranges from industrial history to recreational innovation to a modern amusement park. ([sc-montekaolino.de](https://sc.montekaolino.de/ueber-uns/))

Even today, the mountain remains unique. The official representation describes it as the only sand ski resort in Europe and the only sand ski resort in the world with a stationary lift. Over time, a comprehensive concept developed around the mountain that consciously incorporates sand, Monte Kaolino, and kaolin and translates it into tourism. This includes the dune pool with children's pool, adventure area, and water slide, the camping facility, the lift system, gastronomy, and other experience worlds. Furthermore, the operator's site points out that Monte Kaolino is important not only for sports but also for events and the special flair of the region. Markets, wine festivals, city festivals, and festivals are considered in the surroundings, so the mountain does not stand isolated but is part of a larger tourist and cultural network. This is exactly why the site fits so well with search terms like Monte Kaolino amusement park, Monte Kaolino maps, Monte Kaolino webcam, and Monte Kaolino Hirschau: here, a sand mountain becomes a complete excursion destination. ([sc-montekaolino.de](https://sc.montekaolino.de/ueber-uns/))

For visitors, the combination of history, location, and experience is crucial. Monte Kaolino is only a few minutes from Hirschau, is easily accessible, offers parking, camping, different opening hours, and a wide range of activities for children, teenagers, adults, and groups. The facility will start the 2026 season on March 28, remains closed in winter, and opens daily during the holidays, which further simplifies planning. Therefore, those visiting the Monte experience not only an excursion destination but a piece of regional identity that has grown from industrial past and is now being further developed with modern recreational culture. This connection of mountain, movement, summer, and family experience makes Monte Kaolino one of the most distinctive locations in the Upper Palatinate and a search destination that answers many practical questions at once. Beautiful Place to do camping. If the weather is good you wont complain. Camping prices are not too expensive. You have good access to drinking water and clean toilets. You can do swimming all day long without any additional costs. The mountain of sand is the main attraction. Walking up the sand mountain is a completely different experience. Is lot of fun and sometime tiring. The view at the top is breathtaking. Summary: Find a good weather and go there. You wont regret. Note: Make sure you reserve the camping place before you go.

An interesting place where you can spend a good time. Take the elevator to the top, but run down barefoot on the sand, a great experience. It's a pity that at the top the view is blocked by a fence and trees. A viewing platform would be a great solution.
