Gasthof Salzstadl | Menu & Opening Hours

The Gasthof Salzstadl in Reutte is more than just an inn at the edge of a tourist destination. It combines Tyrolean inn culture, regional cuisine, hotel comfort, and the special location in the Ehrenberg Castle World into a place where one likes to stay longer than planned. The official website describes the Salzstadl as a popular meeting point for visitors of the Ehrenberg Castle World and as an ideal place for special celebrations in a historic setting. This mixture makes the location interesting for connoisseurs, day-trippers, families, groups, and travelers who are on the way to highline179, Ehrenberg, or in the nature park region of Reutte. The rustic character of the old Salzstadl at the foot of the castle, the sunny terrace, the spacious interiors, and the proximity to the region's attractions create a profile that clearly distinguishes it from a classic restaurant. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/))

Menu and Tyrolean Cuisine at Gasthof Salzstadl

In the keyword analysis, it is immediately noticeable that the menu is a main interest of users. This fits with the official menu page, which shows a wide selection of Tyrolean and Austrian dishes. There you will find, among other things, Goulash Soup, Viennese Style Schnitzel, Tyrolean Pan Fry, Beef Goulash, roast pork, vegetarian dishes like Veggie Burger or Veggy Bowl, as well as classics for a small appetite like pretzels, Liptauer, sausage salad, and cheese platters. The dessert page is also clearly focused on indulgence: Kaiserschmarren, apple or quark strudel, tiramisu, crème brûlée, and ice cream variations are part of the offer. This strengthens the perception of the Salzstadl as a Tyrolean inn with honest cuisine and a good selection for different times of the day. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/en/speisekarteon))

Especially relevant is the fact that the kitchen, according to the website, focuses on regional and fresh products and that the establishment belongs to Tyrolean inn culture and the AMA Genuss-Region. These quality features are a strong signal in the gastronomy sector because they emphasize regionality, authenticity, and traceable origins. For guests, this means: Here, not only a tourist location is played, but a kitchen is maintained that makes Tyrolean identity visible. The combination of tradition and modern ideas is also reflected in the announced highlights such as summer barbecue evenings, wine tastings with experts, murder dinners with actors, and live bands. This turns the menu into an experience offering that appeals to both day guests and evening guests. Especially for search queries like menu, restaurant, and prices, this is an important purchasing argument because one can already recognize in advance that variety, quality, and atmosphere come together. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/))

From an SEO perspective, the menu structure is also valuable because it covers numerous search intents. Those looking for quick food after visiting the suspension bridge will find simple dishes and snacks. Those planning a cozy Tyrolean evening will discover meat dishes, appetizers, desserts, and cakes. Those wishing to eat vegetarian or vegan will also find suitable options. Particularly strong for positioning is the fact that the menu appears concrete and price transparent rather than abstract. This makes the Salzstadl trustworthy for guests and facilitates the decision of whether a visit is sensible spontaneously, as a family meal, as a stopover, or as a planned dinner. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/en/speisekarteon))

Opening Hours, Reservations, and Phone Number

Another central search topic is the opening hours. The official website currently states opening hours for the restaurant from Wednesday to Monday and on holidays from 12:00 to 20:00. Tuesday is a day off, but only outside of the holidays. Additionally, the site points out a business closure from November 1 to November 20, 2026, after which the Salzstadl will reopen on November 21. For guests, this information is particularly important because the establishment is located directly in a heavily frequented excursion region, and day guests often decide spontaneously. In such locations, clear time windows and reliable communication are a crucial quality factor. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/))

Those wishing to make a reservation can conveniently do so online via the table reservation. The reservation page asks for date, time, number of people, as well as name, email, and optionally a phone number. Additionally, the contact page provides the official phone number +43 (0) 5672 622 13 and the email address info@gasthofsalzstadl.at. For guests who are making group inquiries or planning a celebration, this is particularly practical because table requests and special inquiries can be coordinated directly with the establishment. The website itself also recommends a reservation for groups, which is aligned with the existing capacity and the event-oriented use of the house. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/tischreservierung?utm_source=openai))

Search queries like phone number, opening hours, and reservations are therefore not just generic keywords, but reflect very real visiting intentions. The Gasthof Salzstadl responds to this with a clear digital structure: separate pages for restaurant, table reservation, rooms, directions, and event topics. This is helpful from a user's perspective because the paths remain short and one does not have to search long. At the same time, from an SEO perspective, it creates good thematic coverage that is relevant for both local searches and tourist searches. So, if you are looking for a restaurant in Reutte, you not only get a menu but also directly the organizational answers that really matter before a visit. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/))

Hotel, Rooms, and Apartments at the Foot of Ehrenberg Castle

The Salzstadl is not only a restaurant but also a hotel. On the room page, the house describes itself as a place where mystical medieval times and modern comfort come together. According to the official website, there are 38 cozy chambers or rooms, apartments, and junior suites. The selection ranges from single, double, and multi-bed rooms to accommodations for up to 7 people. Additionally, there are two barrier-free rooms with ground-level showers available. This is an important feature for a location in a tourist area because it appeals to couples, families, small groups, and travelers with limited mobility. Many units have a balcony or terrace, some also have a fully equipped kitchen. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/zimmer))

For SEO planning, the specific accommodation details are also valuable. The website lists, for example, a double room from 125 euros, a Junior Suite Deluxe from 158 euros, an apartment for 2-4 from 127 euros, an apartment for 6 from 235 euros, and a double room in the Dependance II from 155 euros. At the same time, it is emphasized that free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, apartments, junior suites, and in the restaurant. House guests park at no extra cost, pets are allowed upon request, child discounts are offered, and two electric charging stations are available. The accommodation is also designated as a quality-tested cycling and biking accommodation. This mix makes the Salzstadl interesting for active vacationers and short-term travelers alike. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/zimmer))

The booking logic also speaks for the professionalism of the accommodation. The website recommends direct bookings but also points out that it officially collaborates with booking.com, HRS, and Expedia. For direct bookings, the best price, secure processing, and personal care are emphasized. Additionally, there are exclusive vacation packages with three overnight stays including breakfast, discounted tickets for highline179, the Top-Liner lift, admission to the Ehrenberg Castle World, and optionally the Dragon-Fly experience. This positions the house not only as a room provider but as a central starting point for a whole experience stay in Reutte. Those looking for a hotel and restaurant under one roof will find a very suitable combination here. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/en/buchen?utm_source=openai))

Directions, Parking, and E-Charging Stations in the Klause

A common search term is directions, and here too the official website provides very concrete information. The Gasthof Salzstadl is located at Klause 3, 6600 Reutte, in the northwest of Tyrol directly at the border to Bavaria, in the middle of the Ehrenberg Castle World. For arrival by car, the site describes several routes from Ulm, Munich, Switzerland, and Italy. Particularly practical: The Ehrenberg Castle World exit leads directly into the Klause, and the arrival via B179 or the Fernpass road is explicitly described. For guests arriving by public transport, the site also mentions the regional bus lines 9 and 150 from Reutte train station. This makes the location easily accessible for both day guests and vacationers. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/kontakt))

The parking situation is also clearly regulated. According to the directions page, there are sufficient parking spaces available, the day ticket for cars costs 5.00 euros and is free for hotel guests. Buses have designated parking spaces on P1, campers on P3 against a day ticket. For electric vehicles, there are E-charging stations opposite the Salzstadl restaurant directly in front of the Old Barracks; additional costs apply alongside the parking fee. Technically, two charging stations with Type-2 and Schuko connections are mentioned. These details are crucial for many users because parking situation, charging options, and accessibility often determine the choice of location before an excursion. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/kontakt))

From a tourist perspective, the location is also convincing. The inn is not isolated but is located in the middle of an experience area that is sensibly developed for car, bus, bike, and foot travelers. This increases the quality of stay because guests not only target the restaurant but can also visit the castle world, suspension bridge, and other attractions in the same area. For SEO search intents like directions, parking, parking lot, or address, this is ideal because all practical information can be found directly on an official page. This fulfills exactly what modern visitors expect: short paths, clear information, and stress-free access to the location. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/kontakt))

Ehrenberg Castle World, highline179, and Experience Location

The geographical and thematic proximity to the Ehrenberg Castle World is a core component of the positioning. The Salzstadl describes itself as a meeting point for visitors to the Ehrenberg Castle World and as a gastronomy at the foot of Ehrenberg Castle. The surroundings are closely connected with highline179, the spectacular pedestrian suspension bridge between the Ehrenberg Castle ruins and Fort Claudia. The official website of highline179 names the Ehrenberg Castle World as the starting point, the Klause as the parking area, and a footpath of about 20 minutes from the Klause parking area to the bridgehead. This makes the Salzstadl a logical stop before or after the experience on the bridge. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/))

The bridge itself is also a strong theme cluster for SEO. The official Reutte region describes highline179 as a 406-meter-long pedestrian suspension bridge at a height of 114 meters with panoramic views of the Reutte basin and the mountain world. The Ehrenberg page calls the bridge a record project with ticket sales on site, walkable in both directions. Historically interesting is the fact that the idea originated as early as 1998 or 1999, and the bridge was opened in November 2014. For guests of the Salzstadl, this means: Those searching for highline179, Ehrenberg Castle World, or Reutte land in an environment that connects history, nature experience, and modern attractions. ([ehrenberg.at](https://www.ehrenberg.at/de/highline-179.html))

Additionally, the location appeals to people who are planning more than just a restaurant visit. The website links to other attractions such as the EhrenbergLiner, Top-Liner, Dragonfly, Lumagica Reutte, and Learn to Fight. In the room area, it is also mentioned that the Salzstadl is located directly below the world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Tibetan style. So, if you are looking for accommodation in close proximity to the attractions, you get a real location advantage here. This is also important for search queries with the terms Ehrenberg and Reutte because the location is thus not only strongly culinary but also touristically charged. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/zimmer))

Celebrations, Groups, and Special Events at Salzstadl

For celebrations and groups, the Gasthof Salzstadl is particularly well-suited. The official website states a capacity of up to 180 people indoors. In addition, there is a large sun terrace with additional seating for up to 150 guests and a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape. This shows that the Salzstadl is not just a classic excursion restaurant but a real event location with multiple usage types. Group reservations are expressly recommended, which suggests a professional handling of larger occasions. For family celebrations, club evenings, birthdays, or corporate dinners, the combination of space, view, and cuisine is particularly attractive. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/))

The event communication is also clear and versatile. The website mentions barbecue evenings in summer, wine tastings with experts, murder dinners with actors, and live bands. Additionally, there are separate areas for celebrations, events, and breakfast. This is SEO-relevant because it brings together search terms like celebrations, events, restaurant, and hotel. For guests, it also means that the Salzstadl not only operates during the day but is also designed for atmospheric evenings with programs. The historic setting at the foot of Ehrenberg Castle enhances this effect because classic Tyrolean hospitality and experience character come together here. ([gasthofsalzstadl.at](https://www.gasthofsalzstadl.at/))

The images and social posts on the website also emphasize the profile as a place for beautiful occasions, festively set tables, and enjoyable evenings. The combination of regional cuisine, large terrace, hotel connection, proximity to attractions, and event-oriented use makes the Salzstadl versatile. From the perspective of search intents, therefore, not only menu and opening hours are relevant, but also prices, hotel, photos, reviews, and event options. This variety of topics is convincingly represented by the Gasthof Salzstadl and is therefore very suitable for a comprehensive local SEO landing page. The schnitzel at this restaurant is absolutely outstanding! Perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, incredibly tender and juicy on the inside. It’s well-seasoned, beautifully cooked, and generously portioned. Every bite is a real pleasure. You can truly taste the quality of the ingredients and the care put into its preparation. Highly recommended for anyone who loves a great classic dish!

Ignore the negative reviews... this place was fantastic and we're pretty picky. Almost skipped it because of the star rating. The service was excellent and the food was super tasty. We had the goulash soup bowl, tomato soup, and pretzel with spread. Everything was super flavorful. Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked really good.

We stopped in here after an exciting walk over the Highrise bridge and we were super pleased with our experience. The restaurant was really welcoming with a beautiful interior setup. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the other guests dining there were great too. Our order came out pretty fast, which was awesome, and the quick service didn’t compromise the quality of the food. I had a creamy tomato soup as an appetizer, and it was a fantastic way to kick off my appetite with its delicious flavor. For the main course, I got a Sirloin Steak cooked medium well, and it was really nice, tender, and juicy, paired with a lovely side of veggies and sweet potato fries. For dessert, I chose the Crème Brûlée, which was a perfect way to satisfy my sweet tooth. It was so creamy and tasty—not overly sweet, just right. Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience. What really topped off the night was a live band performing, which was such a treat. We really enjoyed that, and it was heartwarming to see how friendly the other guests were, smiling and cheering for the band, and sharing nice gestures with us too!!! Thanks for the love. It was a great experience for our last night in Austria!❤️

We went to check out the highline179 bridge and wanted to grab a nice dinner afterward. This was definitely not the spot to choose. We had to call the waiters literally every time we needed something. It was 5 pm and the restaurant was almost empty. There were 5 waiters just chatting and laughing behind the bar, but clearly not taking care of the customers. One of our meals had to be sent back twice. The first time it was way too salty, and the second time there was absolutely no salt on it at all, plus it was just swimming in oil. It was also the most expensive dish. In the end, we just left it. We asked for a discount for one of the dishes we didn’t eat, and the waitress said, 'Sorry, we had a long day, the chef is probably tired, hence the food. We can't give you any discount.' Oh well. We’re definitely not coming back here!

We were on a family trip and really enjoyed the place with the Tibetan-style bridge and castles on our way to Germany.
