GriefSpace in the Paulaner Church: A Place of Light and Remembrance
On International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, the Paulaner Church Amberg opens a protected space for those who have experienced the loss of a child during pregnancy, at birth, or shortly thereafter. Those affected, relatives, and empathetic individuals find here time for remembrance, grief, comfort, and quiet connection.

In the GriefSpace, mourning takes a mindful and respectful form. Candlelight, silence, personal thoughts, and gentle rituals create a spiritual atmosphere where every feeling finds its place. Visitors can go through various stations, write down wishes and memories, and give expression to the unspeakable.

The Paulaner Church designs the GriefSpace in collaboration with DONUM VITAE in Bavaria e.V. The offering connects religious experience, pastoral sensitivity, and human closeness. Liturgical elements, prayers, and reflective moments invite participants to perceive personal loss in a supportive community.
