Market visitors, families, and local guests will come together for a pre-Christmas evening in the market community of Freihung.
Regional Market Atmosphere in Upper Palatinate
The Christmas market is organized by Freihunger clubs, associations, and organizations together with the market of Freihung. Between festively decorated stalls, a personal market atmosphere emerges, where encounters, local engagement, and pre-Christmas sociability are at the forefront.
Freihung with Established Market Tradition
Freihung has held market rights since November 20, 1569. The history of the place is closely linked to mining, craftsmanship, and the development of the Upper Palatine market community. This regional connection also shapes the community-organized event at Harranger.
Meeting Point for Families and Market Visitors
The festival grounds at Harranger offer a central meeting point for visitors from Freihung and the surrounding area. The visit combines Advent atmosphere with regional diversity and the shopping experience of a local Christmas market. Clubs and organizations from the market community give the evening its personal character.
