A Jazz evening full of joy at the City Theatre Amberg
On January 27, 2027, great live atmosphere meets fine jazz craftsmanship at the City Theatre Amberg: Under the title THE GENTLEMEN OF JAZZ, Thilo Wolf and Norbert Nagel invite you to an evening that promises musical stories, romantic colors, and palpable stage energy.
Between swing, melody, and vibrant improvisation
The concert is part of the series Jazz is back in Town and focuses on the mix of elegance and appeal that both musicians have represented for decades. According to the schedule, the audience can expect a repertoire that is somewhat jazzy, somewhat romantic, and melodic - with high playfulness and a clear, audience-friendly dramaturgy.
Two influential names of the southern German jazz scene
Thilo Wolf is known as a pianist, bandleader, and prominent jazz maker with many years of big band experience; Norbert Nagel is recognized as an exceptional saxophonist, clarinetist, and boundary-crosser between stylistic worlds. Together, they bring enormous musical experience to the stage - a constellation that has a particularly intense effect in the live atmosphere of a theatre.
Strong setting at the City Theatre Amberg
The City Theatre Amberg accommodates a total of 569 guests in the auditorium, including standing places, thus providing the right backdrop for a focused concert experience. The cloakroom usually opens an hour before the performance starts, as does the box office; the hall is only partially barrier-free according to house information, and wheelchair access should be clarified in advance with the tourist information.
What makes this evening special
This is not about grand effects, but about the art of interplay: precise conducting without a baton, a finely balanced sound image, jazz as an immediate encounter. Those looking forward to dynamics, elegant orchestration, and strong solos will experience an evening with character and true stage presence in Amberg.
Conclusion: THE GENTLEMEN OF JAZZ promises a stylish, lively jazz evening with class and closeness to the audience at the City Theatre Amberg. Those who want to experience modern jazz culture in an intimate theatre setting should secure this date live.
